The Green War

About 25 years ago, the Druids and Rangers were one faction representing those who both fought and protected nature. A long-standing philosophical debate amongst them erupted into an irreconcilable difference, and they could not, or would not, work together further. After an intense battle between a set of druids and rangers, the Primal Faction was officially split. Both Druids and Rangers received a seat on the Council of Factions, though the Druids did not fill this seat or participate in any governance for nearly 15 years. 

Rangers believe themselves protectors of travelers and tamers of the wilds. Druids see themselves as protectors of a delicate ecosystem that has proven susceptible to major changes. Rangers protect people from the now, while Druids protect people from the future. 

While relations have improved with the Druids electing a representative who was not present for the war and who is known for not being very druid-like, tensions are still everyday, and animosity quickly turns situations sour.
