The Accountants

The Gate Guard, a.k.a The Accountants, have a massive portfolio.

1. Keep what comes out of the Arrival Gate from killing everyone.

2. Muster troops as needed, including protection of naval trade routes. 

3. Provide local security

4. Collect Taxes 

5. Collect and Contain all Council members when under a Sequester. 

General Harmony Burrows leads them. Her family has served the Gate Guard since its founding. Their family is regarded as the epitome of Civic Duty in action. She expected the same from her army. Unfortunately, her 42nd birthday approaches, and thus her death. The question of who will lead the Accountants after she is gone is already a topic of discussion for the council.
