Leaving Musto

Many have tried to leave Musto. Spells that can move creatures across the multiverse fizzle and do nothing. Calls to gods and other powerful entities are met with silence. Attempts have been made to leave via the Ethereal Plane, but no one has ever returned. People have been sent over the world's edge, but like all other attempts, no one has ever communicated back to the people of Musto.   

Once a year, The Arcane College sends three of their best to what they hope is the Ethereal Plane. Mages are either placed in a container of holding or carry a container of holding. They are then placed in another container of holding. They are sent with supplies and magical items. Sometimes, they include small creatures like goblins, just in case.
