Like others from Eberron who live in Musto, Cora did not arrive in Musto from Eberron, but rather from Greyhawk. Cora arrived 12 years ago, and became leader of the Druids and their first representative on the Council six years ago. In that time she has ensured food production and healing did not become matters of commerce, forever putting her and Luca Spice in conflict. She has a young daughter who is famously precocious.
Cora is a Mark of Healing halfling and is trained as a doctor.
PLAY OPTIONS - TRIGGER - ABORTION
Cora’s baby daddy is Batur Gehorsam, the half-orc second in command of the Rangers. When Cora found out she was pregnant, she wanted to end the pregnancy. Batur interfered, getting the Wizards to prevent the abortion, as the child may hold the key to reversing the curse affecting the waters. Cora was detained in order to prevent her and others from terminating the pregnancy, despite many doctors confirming she could not survive the pregnancy. The Druid leadership of the time did not participate in the council system and thus was unable to help her in any way.
Large quantities of magic were used daily to keep the baby in Cora long enough to survive outside her. Cora requested that she not be resurrected after her death. As predicted, the child came early, and the surgery to cut it out killed Cora. Batur did not believe she would die and was not ready to care for the child on his own. He forced one of the attendants to give mages more time to resurrect her by casting gentle repose.
Seven days after she died, Cora was forcefully resurrected because her daughter was dying. Mages deemed the child too essential to die. Magic, the best healers and the most experienced wet nurses, could not save the child. A sentimental “what if” about the child just needed her mother led to a council vote to resurrect Cora against her will.
